Refunds and cancellation
In short
Cancel any time and your plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Cancel during the free trial and you pay nothing. If you are not happy, ask within 7 days of your first payment and you get a refund. Renewals are not refunded after that, unless the law says otherwise.
Free trial
- Pro and Max start with a 7 day free trial. Nothing is charged while the trial runs.
- If you cancel at any time during the trial, you are not charged at all. You keep the plan until the trial ends.
- If you do not cancel, the subscription renews automatically when the trial ends and the first payment is taken. That is your first payment for the refund rule below.
- Each person gets one trial. If you have already used one, the plan starts with a normal payment instead.
Cancelling
- You can cancel Pro or Max at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
- When you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for. After that you move to the Free plan.
- We do not charge you again after you cancel. If you cancel after a renewal has been charged, that renewal is covered by the rules below.
- To cancel, use the manage subscription link in the receipt email from Dodo Payments, or write to us and we will cancel it for you.
Refund in the first 7 days
If you ask within 7 days of your first payment for a plan (after a free trial, that is the payment taken when the trial ends), we refund that payment in full. You do not need a reason. This applies to your first payment on Pro or Max, monthly or yearly, and it applies once per person.
Renewals
Renewals are not refunded once 7 days have passed since the payment was taken, unless the law where you live says you are entitled to one, or the charge was an error on our side or Dodo Payments' side. To avoid a renewal you do not want, cancel before the renewal date. You can still use the plan until the paid period ends.
Mistakes and double charges
If you were charged twice, charged after you cancelled, or charged the wrong amount, tell us and we will fix it and refund the extra amount.
What a refund does
- When a refund is made, your paid plan ends and you move to Free. Edits you already made are still yours.
- We do not give refunds for plan limits you were told about before you paid, such as the daily render limit, or for media or music rights problems that come from your own content.
- If we close your account for breaking the Terms, a refund is not owed, except as the Terms say.
How we process it
Payments go through Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, so refunds are paid by them back to the card or method you used. It usually takes 5 to 10 business days to show up, depending on your bank. We approve the refund, and Dodo Payments sends the money.
How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address on your Edix account. Say which plan you bought and when, and the email on your Dodo receipt if it is different. We reply within a few working days.
